The programme supports the set-up and advancement of online editorial offices in developing countries in order to make a contribution to transparency and participation, and in the end back up democratic processes in these countries. Participating journalists received an intense education (short time training in Germany) in online journalism including the aspects politics in the world wide web, costs and benifit of online publications, web design and multimedia applications for online journalism, web research and writing. After introductive speeches and demonstration, the participants deepened their knowledge in working groups and designed their own web project. To complete the professional programme the participants visited in a study trip Germans leading online editorial offices.
