eLAC2007 is a regionally concerted public policy agenda which recognizes the importance of information and communication technologies (ICT) for economic and social development in the countries of the region.
The eLAC2007 Action Plan is based on dialogue and cooperation between all Latin American and Caribbean countries and on the construction of a shared political consensus and strategic vision.
eLAC2007 sets 30 concrete goals encompassing 70 activities with the potential to yield tangible results and provide an effective response to the needs of the region's countries in accordance with the situation of each. The goals are based on current projects and activities and are designed to build on synergies and improve regional coordination, while encouraging the launch of new initiatives. They also favour the preparation and implementation of national initiatives on the basis of information-sharing to enhance knowledge and understanding in critical areas.
