Digital solidarity agenda : TOOL, EXPERTISE, AND PARTNERSHIPS AT THE SERVICE OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES AND COMMUNITIES'PROJECTS Site web de l'activité
Description de l'activité:
FROM STRATEGY TO ACTION
The challenge of digital solidarity consists in moving from words to deeds and in drawing lessons from pilot projects to scale up programmes.
Putting into action the recommendations of the WSIS calls for a multi-sector partnership and a series of concerted actions among all players concerned by digital solidarity and governance in the information society.
The World Digital solidarity Agency:
1. gathers together the major players of decentralized cooperation around digital solidarity projects;
2. facilitates the convergence of cooperation policies to support local authorities
3. offers a methodological support to local authorities that would like to qualify for financing from the Digital Solidarity Fund
The Agency provides three types of services:
Project support
The Agency assists local authorities in truly mastering their information society projects by providing them with tools to help in decision making, targeted information, and the assurance of a surveillance of local authorities’ digital solidarity projects on a global level.
Support in setting up public-private partnerships
The Agency identifies partners offering innovative solutions adapted to the needs of local authorities. The academic sector and the private sector contribute through a public-private partnership model. The Agency establishes reports and maintains a vigilant eye on these partnerships.
Evaluation and Advice
The Agency draws lessons from experience, puts an emphasis on success factors, constraints, viable economic models, and examines conditions of replication and scaling up of successful projects. The Agency facilitates the assembly of competencies necessary to the success of digital solidarity projects at local level.
The World Digital Solidarity Agency is a tool to put in practice the Digital Solidarity Agenda of the WSIS Tunis Summit.
This project has been submitted to the Golden Book database.
