AIBD is committed to creating dialogues among broadcasters from different continents and cultures. An intercontinental dialogue between broadcasters from the Asia-Pacific and Europe will be held in Paris 11-13 September 2006 in which issues of freedom of expression, cultural diversity, human rights as well as new media and ICTs will be will be addressed, among others.

The information society has shrunk the world in a way that even transportation revolution could not bring about. The broadcasters are now grappling with issues relating to the blurring of national borders in the satellite communication era. The information society becomes possible in a globalised world and the contributions from broadcasters are significant.
