AIBD is committed to creating dialogues among broadcasters from different continents and cultures. A global Media Summit will be held in Kuala Lumpur in which issues of access to information, democratic governance, and the role of broadcasters in achieving MDGs will be addressed, among others.
This is a part of the attempt to continually engage the attention of the broadcaster on issues that otherwise get left out. Broadcasters are usually chasing deadlines and therefore lack the opportunity to see a worldwide perspective of developmental issues. The Summit gives them a retreat where they can engage in a dialogue on issues relevant to them, across cultures and continents.
