Activity description: Under the ePol-NET (Global ePolicy Resource Network) partnership, the Canadian e-Policy Resource Centre (CePRC), the International Trade Centre (ITC), and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) will announce a project on information technology-enabled services for selected African countries. The objective of this project is to help the selected countries identify their potential to export services via the Internet, examine policy and regulatory barriers faced by enterprises, and identify ICT champions and enterprises with the potential to e-export. The launch of the ePol-NET collaboration to implement a project initiative on e-trade for Africa will take place on November 14, 2005. ePol-NET was launched at WSIS Geneva in 2003. This new commitment is the latest of many collaborations between ePol-NET partners with a focus on working with African governments to achieve the goals of the Millennium Declaration. This project has been submitted to the Golden Book database.
