The main objective of e-Health project is to provide an electronic record (EHR) where each patient will only have one consolidated heath record wherever he/she receives treatment. The system must be accessible to all authorised health care provider throughout the country either from a permanent building or a temporary location such as travelling medical team or home nursing.
This commitment contributes to various WSIS action lines such as ICT Applications: benefits in all aspects of life, the role of government and all stakeholders in the promotion of ICTs for development, access to information and knowledge and Information and communication infrastructure. This commitment is also relevant to the development goals in Millenium Declaration, particularly in reducing child mortality, improving maternal health and combating HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases.
