The CompTIA European High-Tech Workforce Coalition (HTW) is an information and communication technology (ICT) industry initiative promoting medium- and short-term solutions to significantly accelerate the implementation of horizontal and cross-sectorial eSkills in Europe. Key objectives of the HTW are to:
Accelerate the take-up and implementation of computing services across all economic sectors
State and advocate the business case for an effective enhancement of public financial means for proactive eSkills policies in EU member states
Develop partnerships with public authorities and other stakeholders
Engage social partners and other stakeholder organisations
Provide a policy forum for discussion of high-technology workforce development and related issues
Act as a contact point for the commercial eSkills training channels and ICT workforce development bodies of third countries
HTW supports the following recommendations to meet the challenge of developing our future workforce:
Integrating the public training sector, social partners and commercial ICT training channels
Stakeholder partnerships that facilitate industry, education and government participation
Flexible solutions to keep pace with rapidly changing technologies
Global standards for ICT and eSkills
Adaptable programmes to build professional core skills
Utilising existing resources to advance public goals
Tax incentives for ICT and eSkills training
