The Farmer Information Network (FarmNet) is a conceptual model for using the new Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for agricultural and rural development. It aims at creating a network of rural people, supported by intermediary organizations such as extension services, using ICTs and conventional media to facilitate the generating, gathering and exchanging of knowledge and information: http://www.fao.org/sd/2001/KN1008_en.htm
