Activity description:
The European Social Charter is a Council of Europe treaty safeguarding human rights. It sets out rights and freedoms concerning all individuals in their daily lives: housing, health, education, employment, legal and social protection, movement of persons, non-discrimination. It also establishes a supervisory mechanism guaranteeing their respect by the States Parties which are member States of the Council of Europe. This mechanism is based on 2 procedures: national reports and collective complaints.
