A mobile e-connectivity communications solution was tested, which became known as the website of the activity
Activity description:
The Oxfam ‘Office in a Box’ and connectivity blueprint is based on establishing a local IP network using VSAT links to transmit information, with built-in applications consisting of IP Telephony, e-mail and web access. This solution was considered ideal by Oxfam because telephony and data traffic could share available bandwidth. Oxfam has also recognised the potential of several NGOs sharing data and voice traffic over a single network link. This realises economies of scale in the use of bandwidth and keeps cost to a minimum.
