Activity description: Global ICT Conference on “Digital Divide and Knowledge Economy: Problems and Solutions” was held in Baku, Azerbaijan on November 25-28, 2004. As an international event, apart from the general public and the press, the Baku Conference brought together over 100 high level representatives of the ICT industry, government, civil society, academia and private sector from over 40 countries around the globe to share the best practices in e-Content and e-Creativity. The Conference showcased the world's best practice in quality e-Content in the framework of the World Summit Award Exhibition and placed a special emphasis on added value and demonstrating the concrete benefits of quality e-Content to the ICT industry and the general public. The Conference was jointly organized by the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies and the World Summit Award (WSA), together with a network of international partners. Final Baku Declaration was adopted.
