ITU is contributing to the development of innovative solutions and options for providing health services to underserved areas and the development of institutional partnerships.ITU's e-health activities include the implementation of telemedicine projects in several countries including Mozambique, Malta, Nicaragua, Georgia, Myanmar, Senegal, Bhutan, Uganda and Ukraine. There are ongoing projects for several countries such as Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Haiti, Rwanda, Venezuela, Sudan, Mauritania, Bulgaria, Zimbabwe and Guinea. Requests for assistance from Lebanon, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Latvia are in consideration for future partnership action by ITU. ITU also provides assistance in elaborating national and regional ICT strategies that can enhance health services in developing countries. A regional activity is planned for the Caribbean region in 2004.
