The NP service opens the market for competition, enables alternative operators expand their business, broadens opportunity for infrastructure development, promotes ICT development.
The NP service has been made available for operators of fixed lines on the Czech market since January 2003. APVTS established a daughter company CNPAC (Czech Number Portability Administrative Center) that operates the national database and provides the NP service. Currently, more then 500 000 numbers are being ported yearly. Te NP service bring customer an opportunity to change operator without changing the number. The service provides an opportunity to gain/improve access to internet services, especially broadband services.
