Innovative Strategies for Peruvian Women’s Participation in Digital Economy: Pilot Program for Women Entrepreneurs

The programme consists of three different components, divided into several sub- activities:
1. Capacity Development Program
- Training of Trainers, Local Training in Peru
2. Institutional Strengthening
- Legal Review, Presentation of Findings
3. Monitoring and Evaluation
- Gender Evaluation Specialist Review, Latin-American/ Peru Specialist Review
20 Peruvian women entrepreneurs came to Korea to obtain an intensive Training of Trainer (ToT), where they not only attended class lectures on various topics like e-biz, e-government, social media and entrepreneurship, but also obtained valuable in field experience by visiting Korean best practices of e-Biz application and social enterprises. The part of Activity One formed the local training in Peru, which took place in twelve different parts of the country. The participants who attended the ToT organized and conducted these sessions and tried to deliver the most important content of their obtained knowledge from Korea.
The findings of local trainings then were presented to municipal and federal government officials in an Institutional Strengthening Workshop held in Lima, Peru in April, 2011 and showed how appropriate policies and effective use of human and institutional resources can enhance women’s access to e-business.
