Ankabut Network |
| Activity description: | UAE’s leading universities (UAE University, Zayed University, Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research and HTC) signed an MOU to establish a dedicated research and education network within the country named “Ankabut”. ANKABUT will cater for the regional research needs, offering great improvements in how research is conducted, as well as improving the teaching and learning processes. It will also provide collaboration and sharing of resources. In addition, it provides a link for international collaboration with other research network (NRENs). Ankabut is linked to Internet2 project and Geant . Anakabut project currently connects 5 Universities covering 25 campuses. The funding structure for Anakabut will be revisited, since additional contributors will be involved in the coming years. |
