| Activity description: | Founded in March 14, 2006, the Emirates Internet Society initiative has brought together groups of young people with support from the UAE Knowledge Village in Dubai. The group is seeking to develop and improve the performance of Internet users, and to facilitate the exchange of experiences and information along with providing consultation. The group aims at aspiring and moving the UAE Society towards excellence and skill development in the current information age. In addition, the group has embarked on tasks to raise the awareness of the UAE society with regard to the importance of internet; push for more internet penetration and usage; enhance the efficiency of institutions and community sites (local, governmental and corporate); enhance the efficiency of web developers in the field of design and programming; and implement capacity building programs. |
