| Activity description: | Launched in 2007, the first phase of COMARCI resulted in a research of the status of rural connectivity in 18 African countries along with the policies and regulation in place in comparison to five comparator countries (Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia and the US) together with identification of innovative technologies and novel business models. The resulting Report on African Rural Connectivity is available at http://www2.cto.int/COMARCIReport.pdf. In the second phase CTO plans to carry out a series of capacity building workshops aimed at building Public Private Peoples Partnerships (4Ps) aimed at creating new connectivity and providing value added ICT services |
