Expansion of Intel Teach to the Future Program |
| Activity description: | Intel Corporation will train an additional train an additional 10 million teachers in developing nations over the next five years in the use of technology to enhance learning. The plan significantly expands the Intel® Teach to the Future initiative, which since 2000 has already trained over 3 million teachers in 35 countries As part of the expanded program, Intel also announced it will donate 100,000 PCs to classrooms in developing nations in order to improve learning skills. The new effort supplements the $100 million annual commitment Intel currently makes to improve education for young people worldwide. Through the expansion of the program, Intel believes it will be able to reach 1 Billion students in developing nations by 2010. The expansion of the Intel Teach to the Future program is in line with the the MDGs number 3 and 8, and with the WSIS Action Lines C3, C4, C7, C8 and C11, as laid out in the Tunis Agenda document. This project has been submitted to the Golden Book dstabase. |
