| Activity description: | The Computer Reuse Program extends the life of redundant and obsolete Government computers and reduces waste. The used computers are refurbished and distributed by six (6) not-for-profit organisations to socio-economically disadvantaged individuals, educational institutions and other community groups. The Program has helped improve the community's uptake of computer and communication technologies by building a bridge between organisations that have computers they wish to "retire" and disadvantaged groups and communities that lack access to computers. By the end of its first year, government agencies had donated nearly two thousand, two hundred (2,200) computers and one hundred and fifty (150) printers. |
