| Activity description: | Desde su nacimiento en 1989, HISPASAT, el operador español de telecomunicaciones por satélite, gestiona la posición orbital de 30º Oeste sobre el Atlántico a la que, recientemente, se ha unido la posición orbital brasileña 61º Oeste. La sociedad opera actualmente tres satélites de comunicaciones (Hispasat 1C,1D y AMAZONAS-1) que constituyen el soporte idóneo para comunicaciones entre ambos lados del Atlántico, ofreciendo capacidad tanto a los operadores de telecomunicaciones y radiodifusores. Los satélites de HISPASAT, además de contribuir al despliegue de plataformas de televisión digital, la distribución de radio y televisión, servicios avanzados de telecomunicaciones en entornos empresariales o al incremento de la oferta audiovisual entre Europa y América, permiten el acceso a Internet en banda ancha y el desarrollo de los nuevos servicios interactivos y multimedia asociados a la tecnología digital como la teleformación, distribución de contenidos, video y cine bajo demanda o videoconferencia de alta calidad. |
