Welcome to the WSIS
Stocktaking Process
The WSIS Stocktaking Process was
launched in October 2004. Its aim is to provide a register of activities
carried out by governments, international organizations, the business
sector, civil society and other entities. To this end, in accordance with
§120 of the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society adopted by the
Summit, ITU has been maintaining the WSIS Stocktaking Database as a publicly
accessible system providing information on ICT-related initiatives and
projects with reference to the 11 WSIS Action Lines. In this context you are
kindly invited to participate in the WSIS Stocktaking Platform which
is available here.
By July 2011, there were more than
5149 entries
in the database, more than half of which report on activities carried out in
partnership. It should also be pointed out that many of the entries reflect
more than one initiative or project implemented by WSIS stakeholders.
Be part of the WSIS
Stocktaking Platform!
The goals of the WSIS Stocktaking Platform are to
provide opportunity for stakeholders to extend network, create partnerships
and provide more visibility, thereby adding value to the projects at the
global level
