Prof Dr Marko Jagodic received his Dipl. Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Ljubljana University, Slovenia, in 1960, his MSc from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, USA, in 1967 and his PhD degree from the Ljubljana University, Slovenia, in 1976. In 1987 he was elected as Associate Professor at the Ljubljana University. He has held several topmost R&D management positions in the telecommunications industry of Slovenia and continues his participation as R&D Adviser for the Slovenian telecommunication industry and the Government. He is also still active as the University Professor at postgraduate level. Some of his current activities: R&D Adviser to Director General of company IskraTEL, Member and the past President of the Slovenian Academy of Engineering Sciences, Member of the Managing Board of the Slovenian Institute for Standardisation, Slovenian representative in ITU TSAG, involvement in the preparation of the ITU World Telecom Forums, Member of the International Advisory Committee of the International Conference on Intelligence in Networks – ICIN. He is also very active in domestic and international professional societies like IEEE Communications Society (Member of the Strategic Planning Committee), European Federation of National Engineering Associations - FEANI (Member of the European Monitoring Committee –EMC), Electrotechnical Association of Slovenia (Vice President), and Slovenian Society for Electronic Communications (Vice President).
