Biography

Ric is currently responsible for Business Strategy and Public Affairs for Alcatel-Lucent in Asia Pacific.

With over 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry, Ric held a number of senior positions in the industry prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent in 2006 as Chief Technology Officer Australia and New Zealand. He was the inaugural Chief Operating Officer for National ICT Australia (Australia’s ICT Research Centre Of Excellence), Managing Director of Ericsson’s Research and Development company, Ericsson Asia Pacific Lab Australia and held various senior operations and manufacturing roles with Philips Mobile Communications. He has also acted as a Director for several ICT start-ups and has participated in Australian Federal and State Government and University advisory groups.

Ric was a long standing member of Innovation Australia’s R+D Tax Concession Committee and on the industry advisory committees of the engineering faculties of University Of Technology Sydney and RMIT University Melbourne. He remains on the Advisory Committee of the Bell Labs and University of Melbourne Centre for Energy Efficient Telecommunications collaboration.

Ric holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Swinburne Institute of Technology, a Graduate Diploma in Software Engineering and is a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
