Mr. Ekachai Phakdurong has been the Vice President for Corporate Affairs of Thaicom Public Company Limited since 2011. With extensive experience in telecommunications and satellite industry, Ekachai has played key roles in regulatory affairs, corporate communications, business relations and business development at the national and global arena.

Before accepting the VP position, Ekachai has strong engineering background in satellite and telecommunications in multi aspects including system developments, operations, as well as customer services at Thaicom PLC. Based on his over 20-year of working experience, Ekachai has represented the Company in international ground. He has contributed in international organizations and leading institutions in telecommunications and satellite industry including the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as well as the Asia-Pacific Telecommunication Community (APT).

With his outstanding caliber in engineering and international affairs, Ekachai has been well accepted as a key delegate from Thailand for remarkable international missions such as the ITU’s World Radiocommunication Conference since 2000. For almost 20 years, he has secured for Thailand the rights over satellite orbital slots. He had also worked with telecommunication regulators in countries in Asia-Pacific for landing rights and licenses to operate for Thaicom. His accomplishment does not only secure Thailand’s right over satellite orbital slots to maintain the country’s competitiveness in satellite industry, but also Thaicom’s capability to provide the end-to-end broadcast and broadband services for the countries in Asia-Pacific.

Ekachai has got a Master of Sciences in Electrical Engineering (Awarded: International Student Academic Achievement) from University of Southern California in Los Angeles in addition to a Bachelor of Engineering (1st Class Honor) in Electrical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.
