John Galvin is a vice president in the Sales and Marketing Group at Intel Corporation and general manager of the World Ahead Program, an integrated product and marketing team focused on global education. Galvin is responsible for defining Intel’s strategy and plans in the education arena, including platforms, solution stacks, services, content development, strategic partnerships and paths to market. Beginning in 2004, Galvin ran the Intel Inside Program, Intel’s worldwide joint marketing and branding program. Later, as director of partner marketing, he oversaw joint customer and partner marketing efforts and led an extensive overhaul of the program. Earlier in his Intel career, Galvin was director of market research, including brand effectiveness, analytics and product development. In 2011, Galvin was asked to lead a special Sales and Marketing Group transformation team, serving as a change agent for Intel. Working with worldwide group staff, he identified areas of transformation to meet current and future business needs. The effort resulted in the formation of SMG University and the new World Ahead team that he now manages. Before joining Intel in 1995, Galvin spent 10 years working in computer distribution. He served in sales, marketing and operations roles for Microware Distributors, then worked on operations and sales projects for Ingram Micro.
Galvin earned his bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach, in 1984.
