Ms Teresa Corbin Chief Executive Officer Australian Communications Consumer Action Network Ms Teresa Corbin is a recognised expert in Australia on consumer policy and communications regulation having represented end-users on over 70 different national and international bodies. She is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Australia’s communications consumers watchdog – ACCAN (Australian Communications Consumer Action Network) which she co-founded. ACCAN is a peak body representing residential consumers and small businesses with the key goal of working for available, affordable and accessible communications for all consumers. ACCAN focusses on goods and services offered in the telecommunications, broadband, broadcasting and emerging new technology markets. Prior to her current role, Ms Corbin was CEO at the Consumers’ Telecommunications Network (CTN) from 2003 to 2009. Her community sector links span a 20-year period in both policy and management positions and she maintains strong ties with consumer groups both in Australia and internationally. Her work in has produced important outcomes in consumer protection, better self-regulation, privacy, consumer awareness and access for people with disabilities and those living in rural and remote areas. Ms Corbin sits on many industry and government bodies in Australia including the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman Council, the Australian Communications and Media Authority Consumer Consultative Forum and the New South Wales Information Privacy Advisory Committee. Teresa holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Linguistics from La Trobe University and she is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
