PSD2 : Mobile Technology and Productivity in the Enterprise
Wednesday, 20 November 2013 10:45 - 12:15
Luke has been curious about technology for a long time. It started in 1981 when he stole his father’s texas instruments calculator and pulled it apart to investigate. He couldn't put it back together, so he buried it in the backyard. He still has his first mobile phone and a calculator watch. As one of the pioneers at Mortgage Choice, Luke moved to London to establish an office there. As the guy who 'knew stuff about stuff', Luke was responsible for operations and new technology. Luke sent his first email in 1996, and helped to design and build the first “online mortgage calculator” in 1998. At St George Bank, Luke was responsible for activating the groups Internet strategy. He worked alongside Bain Consulting, creating the industry strategy for the Corporate Bank, and spent 12 months working with a team from Booz Allen Hamilton to design the “new” customer experience program. Between 2006 and 2010, Luke built and sold a digital agency, pioneered personal brand development for Non-Executive Directors in Australia, run an online travel company, co-founded an ideas incubator, and spoke at TedX on content curation. Luke co-founded the application design firm, alive in 2010. Alive is Australia’s fastest growing mobile application design firm for the enterprise, winning the AIMIA award for the best in-field services application and establishing offices in Sydney, Singapore and Wellington, New Zealand. Luke lives in Mosman, Sydney, with his wife and three children. He is a keen road cyclist with an interest in design and all things beautiful. When not on a mobile device, Luke is usually telling people all about Australian history or experimenting with aerial robots.
