Dr. Chatterjee has a Master’s degree in Radio Physics and Electronics from the University of Calcutta, India, a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, Canada and nearly 30 years of experience in various branches of the telecommunications industry. He is currently the Vice President of Industry Relations with Ericsson.
He was the co-chairman of ITU-T SG13's WP1 for the 2009-2012 Study Period, a member of the US Delegation to WP 5D of ITU-R SG5 (working on IMT-Adv standardization), and Vice Chair of the ITU-T Focus Group “Bridging the Gap: From Innovation to Standards”.
Dr. Chatterjee is one of the founders of 3GPP, and is currently the Vice Chairman of 3GPP Project Coordination Group. He is a member of the ATIS Delegation to Global Standards Collaboration meetings. He was a Member of the US Delegations to WTSA 2008 in Johannesburg and WTDC 2010 in Hyderabad.
Dr. Chatterjee is the Executive Director of Development Organization of Standards for Telecommunications in India (DOSTI).
