Mr. Wonki MIN is currently the Chairman Nominee of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2014 and a Director-General at the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) of the Republic of Korea. Mr. Wonki MIN has more than 25 years, career as a government official responsible for Korea’s ICT policy-making and policy implementation at the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), and the Ministry of Information and Communication. He was Director General of the Central Radio Management Office (2007-2008), Director of the Policy Coordination Division (2005 -2006), Director of the International Policy Division (2003- 2004), Director of the Software Industry Division (2003), Director of the Telecommunications Competition Policy Division (2002), and Chief Secretary to the Minister (2001- 2002). He also has extensive experience in international activities, including his work as Senior ICT Policy Specialist for the World Bank(2010-2012), Senior ICT Expert for the UNESCAP-APCICT(2006-2007), Chair of the OECD TISP working party (2003- 2004), Vice Chair of the OECD TISP working party (2002-2003), and Project Manager for the OECD(1998-2000).
Mr. Min earned his MBA at the University of Washington (U.S.A), MA in Public Administration from Seoul National University and BA in History from Yonsei University of the Republic of Korea.
