Sebastian
Gallehr was born on January 30th, 1965 in Hamburg. After having passed the final
exam he moved to Braunschweig in order to start his studies in energy- and
processtechnology at the Technical University in Braunschweig, which he
finalized in 1996 with an engineering diploma. In 1997 he got married and since
then he and his wife enjoy raising together their two children.
Since 1995 Gallehr founded several private business companies and units in the
sustainable energy sector. He gained business experience as manager and managing
director of several SME and one corporate company in the sectors of carbon
management, emissions trading, energy supply, energy efficiency, smart metering,
renewable energies, energy management, energy infrastructures and risk
management.
The company GALLEHR+PARTNER-Sustainable Risk Management was founded in April
2003 and is managed by Sebastian Gallehr as the main shareholder. Besides being
the German market leader in carbon management services for some 100 industrial
and power plants GALLEHR+PARTNER offers consulting and services for business
development, IT implementation, risk management, energy management, renewable
energies, and emissions trading to companies in the energy sector and carbon
intensive industries.
Since March 2002 Sebastian Gallehr is managing the European Business Council for
Sustainable Energy (e5) as CEO. e5, founded in 1996 is representing approx. 110
European enterprises in their policy and business requirements of a future
capable energy economy on European and international level. In this function,
Gallehr has been the chairman of the cross sectoral eco-innovations experts
panel of the Europe INNOVA program and is financial auditor and member of the
