ITU Strategy on Accessibility

To achieve its aims, ITU focuses on a series of strategic issues ranging from the rights of the disabled, to making technical design standards accessible, to providing education and training on accessible ICT. With a proven 4-step approach, ITU aligns interests and activities across the board so that accessibility becomes no longer an issue, but a reality.

What is ITU doing for accessibility?

  • Promoting telecommunication standards
  • Promoting the development of assistive products and services
  • Helping Members States meet their obligations
  • Establishing outreach programmes
  • Encouraging the exchange of best practice
  • Helping develop and promoting policy guidelines
  • Creating greater awareness through conferences & publications
