TELECOM INFORMATION KIOSKS

The Telecom Information Kiosks (TIKs) will offer information services to all TELECOM 99 + INTERACTIVE 99 participants:
  • Email access (via POP3 clients and new email accounts)
  • Internet access
  • Event Information
  • Exhibit Finder (Find exhibitor booths, product location, etc.)

More than 300 PCs are available in about a dozen clusters, the Telecom Information Kiosks (TIKs), conveniently located throughout the forum and exhibition areas of PALEXPO. These TIKs will provide access to web-based email, to official information about the event, to the ITU website and access to the Internet. The TIKs use an integrated smartcard system that resets the user station environment for each personal session. All event participants will receive a blank smart card, included in a voucher, at the beginning of the event.

The TIKs services and infrastructure are being provided by a consortium of companies, including Compaq, Ericsson, Gemplus and CMP Media.
