EVALUATION OF ABSTRACTS

  • The 1120 abstracts accepted for evaluation were submitted to the
    Members of the TELECOM 99 + INTERACTIVE 99 Forum Programme
    Committee.

  • The following criteria were used in the evaluation process and awarded
    marks of 1 to 5 (5 = highest score):
     
    • CONTENT: does it reflect excellence of vision, research, approach
      etc.?
    • SCOPE: how well does the content fit the relevant Summit?
    • ORIGINALITY: does it provide a novel approach?
    • TIMELINESS: does it treat current "hot" issues?
    • CLARITY: is the abstract structured in a way that would assure a
      clear on-site presentation?

    NOTE - A total of 25 marks is available for each abstract.

SELECTION OF ABSTRACTS

  • Following the individual reviews by the Forum Programme Committee, the
    Paper Selection meeting was held in Geneva from 1-5 February 1999.

  • During this meeting, the Forum Programme Committee :

    • establish the Preliminary Forum Programme, e.g. define, for all the Summits, the Session themes and the sequence of Sessions;
    • define the structure of the various Sessions (e.g. Paper presentation, panel, workshop, tutorial);
    • submitted speakers names to be invited to contribute to the various Forum Sessions, according to the Session themes and to the ratings of the abstracts; and
    • define the roles attributed to the various participants.

NOTIFICATION OF AUTHORS

  • Selected Authors, on the basis of their Abstract, may be invited to:
    • present their paper in a Paper presentation Session;
    • present their paper as a background contribution to a Panel or a Roundtable Session;
    • debate on a Panel, a Roundtable Session or a Workshop Session;
    • develop and/or contribute to a tutorial for the Forum;
    • contribute to a Poster Session; or
    • publish a full manuscript in the Forum proceedings.

MANUSCRIPTS

  • All Forum participants will be invited to submit a full manuscript to be published in the Forum proceedings. Guidelines for selected Authors regarding the submission of Final Manuscripts will be available on this web site as of April 1999.
  • Deadline for receipt of Final Manuscripts for inclusion in Forum proceedings: 20 August 1999.
