PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Ms Limodin joined the Radiocommunication Department of the Telecommunications Direction of the French Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in 1979. Until 1986 she was responsible for the application of the ITU Radio Regulations to French and European satellite networks (ESA and EUTELSAT) in the capacity of notifying administration. She actively contributed to the elaboration of Radio Regulations provisions dealing with satellite networks, and in 1983 was the deputy head of the French delegation to the regional conference for the planning of the satellite broadcasting service for Region 2. In 1987 she was made responsible for the application of French national regulations on use of the citizen’s band and radio amateur activities, and, from 1988, for the application of the Radio Regulations to French broadcasting stations.

In 1990 she joined the Frequency Bureau of the France Télécom Group as deputy bureau head, in charge of technical and regulatory spectrum use issues and responsible for preparations for world radiocommunications conferences. In this position she served as deputy to Pierre Aboudarham until 1993 and François Rancy until 1997. She continued to contribute actively to the development of Radio Regulations provisions for satellite networks, in particular non-geostationary satellites, at the 1992 World Administrative Radio Conference and subsequent conferences. She was due to retire in January 2006.

  • Preparation for ITU world radiocommunication conferences and participation in those conferences, including contributions on regulatory and procedural aspects of the use of orbit and spectrum resources by satellite networks.

  • Coordination and notification of French and European (ESA, EUTELSAT) satellite networks pursuant to the Radio Regulations.

INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Ms Limodin has participated in various world and regional radiocommunication conferences of ITU and related CEPT and ITU meetings. She has prepared and presented contributions concerning space services, in particular non-geostationary satellite networks.

The professional career of Ms Limodin has been focused since 1979 on regulatory and procedural issues relating to radiocommunications and spectrum management. She is a recognized authority on the Radio Regulations of ITU.
