The IMT-2000 Task Force is an internal ITU structure taking advantage of the
different competences and synergy among representatives of the
various areas of the ITU Secretariat, which has the following general purposes:

Promote the IMT-2000 vision and standards development process
in the areas of radio, network and telecommunications development; |
| -
Consolidate the internal IMT-2000 culture and give a more
coherent and professional image of the ITU expertise; |
| -
Guarantee more concerted actions in the different areas
involved; |
| -
Coordinate the different proposals of cooperation and collaboration
with ITU by sister and similar standards development organizations, forums,
consortia, and industry in general; |
| -
Address the legal implications related to IMT-2000 IPRs,
copyrights, etc. |
