Career Details
Vasco Arnaldo Geada de Matos Trigo has worked with Radio e
Televisão de Portugal (RTP) as a journalist/reporter since
August 1988.
Vasco Trigo has
been the Host/Editor of “2010”, the weekly TV magazine of
Science & Technology for RTP since October 1996.
Between August
2004 and January 2007, he was Host/Editor of “Jornal”, the daily
TV news show. From January 2002 to August 2003, he hosted “24
Horas”, another daily TV news show. He was host/Editor of
“Sinais do Tempo”, weekly TV magazine on International Affairs
from January 1997 to December 2001.
He has been a Professor for TV journalism in the Universidade
Autónoma de Lisboa since 2000, and as of September 2008, he is
also a Professor of Science Journalism at the Escola Superior de
Comunicação Social (ESCS), Instituto Politécnico Lisboa.
From November 1993 to November 1995, he worked as a Press
Officer for the President of the Portuguese Parliament,
Assembleia da República. Between May 1989 and May 1990, he was a
Political correspondent for "O Liberal", a weekly newspaper.
Between September 1981 and October 1984 he worked as a
journalist for Rádio Renascença.

research interest
Domain of specialization: Science Communication
Current research interests: Vasco
Trigo studies the process of science communication, both from
the journalist and the scientist point of view. He wants to
develop research on the interaction between the public and
scientists through the media and Information and Communication
technologies.
Other professional interests/activities: As host and editor of
"2010" (weekly tv magazine), he deals with scientists,
researchers, research centers, laboratories all over the
country. It is clear, for him, that those professionals
understand and are more and more interested in science
communication. It is also clear that the public is curious about
science.
