Toru OTSU was born in Tokyo, Japan,
in 1960. He received the degrees of B.Eng., M.Eng. and Ph.D. in
Global Information and Telecommunications from Waseda
University, Japan in 1983, 1985, and 2002, respectively.
In 1985, He joined Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation
(NTT). Since then, he was involved in research and development
projects of satellite and mobile communication systems. From
1992 to 1993, he was a visiting researcher of ENST, Ecole
Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications, France.
Since he joined in the Wireless Laboratories of NTT DoCoMo in
2000, he was engaged in research and standardization activities
of the fourth generation mobile communication system. In 2003,
he moved to DoCoMo Europe in London as Deputy Managing Director.
On June of 2005, he was appointed to President & CEO of
DOCOMO Communications Laboratories Europe GmbH located in
Munich, Germany. |
