Engr. Ernest Chukwuka Anene Ndukwe
is the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigeria’s
Telecommunications Regulatory Agency. He is a professional
Telecommunications Engineer with over 33 years of international
experience in the telecommunications industry, majority of which
have been in senior management positions in private
multi-national telecommunications companies and in government
Telecom policy & regulation.
He is an Electronic/Electrical Engineering graduate of the
University of Ife, an Alumnus of the Lagos Business School, a
Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Fellow of Nigerian
Institute of Management and Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of
Engineering.
Since his appointment, the Commission has witnessed
tremendous growth and transformation, which have resulted in the
boom now associated with the telecommunications industry in
Nigeria. NCC, during his tenure, has also earned reputation as a
government agency where transparency and openness are
consistently extolled as virtue.
Engr. Ndukwe is a past Chairman of the Administrative Council
of the African Telecommunications Union and past Chairman of the
West African Telecom Regulators Assembly (WATRA), an
organization he helped pioneer. He is also currently a Vice
Chairman of the Telecom Development Advisory Group of the
International Telecommunications Union representing Nigeria.
Engr. Ndukwe, on special invitation, has served as adviser to a
few countries in Africa on Telecom Policy and Regulation.
Engineer Ndukwe has represented Nigeria at various
international events and is a regular resource person at
international Telecommunications conferences including ITU
organised forum and events.
He is a recipient of several industry and civic awards,
including the rank of OFFICER OF THE ORDER OF THE FEDERAL
REPUBLIC (OFR), one of Nigeria’s prestigious National Honors. |
