Emmanuel Darmois has been working
with Alcatel-Lucent since 1989. In his current position as VP
Standards in Bell Labs, he overlooks standardization in
Alcatel-Lucent, coordinates the standardization strategy and
makes sure that the contributions of the several hundreds of
Alcatel-Lucent engineers working in standards are reflecting
this strategy and bear the highest technical value to the
standardization community.
Prior to that, he has been taking different senior positions
in operational business or in the field of Research and of R&D.
He first headed research in Artificial Intelligence, Open
Distributed Platforms, Service Creation. He has worked two years
in the USA as Technical Director for the TINA Consortium, a
standards making organisation in the field of Service Creation.
Back in Alcatel, he has been head of Corporate Research in
Software, CTO of the Network Applications Division, VP R&D
Effectiveness in charge of “overseeing the R&D Engine” of
Alcatel and VP Unified Management Interaction in charge of the
definition of a business strategy for Instant Real-Time
Collaboration.
Before joining Alcatel-Lucent, he has been a Computer Science
professor in “Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées”, a French
School of Engineering, both as a teacher and a researcher in the
field of Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems. During that
period, he also has created a start-up in the domain of network
gaming. |
