Elaboration of the 2012-2015 ITU Strategic Plan |
Council 09 established a
Working Group charged of the elaboration of a draft Strategic Plan for the Union 2012-2015. The final
draft produced by the Group served as input, together with several contributions by Member States, for the work of PP-10’s Committee 6. The revised Plan was then discussed, revised and
adopted by the Plenary.

The newly adopted
Resolution 71 (Rev. Guadalajara, 2010), instructs the Secretary-General to present annually to Council annual progress reports on the implementation of the strategic plan for 2012-2015, and on the performance of the Union towards the achievement of its objectives, including recommendations to adjust the plan in the light of changes in the telecommunication/ICT environment and/or as a result of the performance evaluation, in particular by.

Updating sections of the Plan related to the evaluation of the progress towards the objectives;

Making all modifications necessary to ensure that the strategic plan facilitates the accomplishment of ITU's mission; and
-
Ensuring the linkage between the strategic, financial and operational plans in ITU.

The ITU’s Performance Measurement/Reporting framework |
The Performance Measurement/Reporting (PMR) group has developed a PMR framework as the mechanism within ITU’s corporate strategic planning and evaluation processes for the assessment of progress towards the objectives of the Sectors and the GS and to the strategic orientations and goals of the Union. This framework is being adapted to allow the above mentioned requirements to be implemented within the new strategic plan. The PMR group is chaired by CSD.
