Introduction |
The International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats (IMPACT) Global HQ is located on a seven-acre estate near Kuala Lumpur with a current infrastructure of over 58,000 square feet. Completion is expected in December 2008.
While the GCA will be housed at the IMPACT Centre, ITU will maintain a ‘virtual showcase’ in Geneva of the early warning system, crisis management and real-time analysis of global cyber-threats. All IMPACT-based initiatives – such as the GRC, training and skills development, security assurance, research, and international cooperation programs – will expand and evolve over time to increasingly provide services in the five pillars of ITU’s Global Cybersecurity Agenda.

3 September 2008: IMPACT
to Host Daily Operations of ITU's GCA |
The
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber-Threats (IMPACT) formally entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in which IMPACT’s new state-of-the-art global headquarters in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, will effectively become the physical home of the GCA. This landmark collaboration will provide ITU’s 191 Member States with the expertise, facilities and resources to effectively address the world’s most serious cyber-threats.
The close synergies between the five work areas of the GCA and the services and infrastructure provided by IMPACT made a joint-partnership a logical step in the global fight against cyberthreats, cybercrime and other misuses of ICTs. ITU has significant experience in national capacity-building in cybersecurity and information infrastructure protection and can draw on an extensive network of leading cybersecurity authorities.
