Geneva, 12 November 2008: At the High-Level Segment
(HLS) of Council 2008 meeting
being held in Geneva, Judge Schjolberg was awarded a Silver Medal by the ITU
Secretary General, Dr. Hamadoun I. Touré, in recognition of his tremendous
contribution, as the chairman of the High-Level Expert
Group (HLEG), to support ITU’s work in the field of cybersecurity.
Judge Schjolberg is an international expert on cybercrime, and one of the
founders of the harmonization of national criminal law on computer crime.
Lauding his contributions, the ITU Secretary General, said that “Judge
Schjolberg went above and beyond his role as chairman of this group and he
dedicated countless hours to make the work of this group a success.”
