Improving the health of women and children is a global health imperative, reflected in two of the most compelling Millennium Development Goals which seek specifically to reduce maternal and infant deaths by 2015. This joint report by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), based on a 64-country survey, demonstrates - as never before in such detail - the vital role that information and communication technologies (ICTs) and particularly eHealth are playing today in helping achieve those targets. It demonstrates how, every day, eHealth is saving the lives of women, their babies and infants in some of the most vulnerable populations around the world, in a wide variety of innovative ways.

Spectrum Management System for Developing Countries (SMS4DC)

The new version of the software contains a general data interface between monitoring software and SMS4DC, additional and revised propagation models based on the latest version of P.452, P.530 and P. 1812, P.1546 + 11343 There is further development of built-in and user specified administrative reports and a general method to import data to SMS4DC The SMS4DC software is now available also in Spanish. Training material for assisting self-learning training of the software will be also available.

World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-14): Final Report

The sixth World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-14) took place in Dubai () from 30 March to 14 April 2014. The Final Report contains the Dubai Declaration, the Conference's contribution to the ITU Strategic Plan for the Telecommunication Development Sector, the Dubai Action Plan (DuAP) focusing on the programmes and regional initiatives, and the resolutions approved by the Conference directed towards the purposes and objectives of the ITU Telecommunication Development Sector for the four-year period 2015-2018.

World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Database CD-ROM

The World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators database on CD-ROM and online contains time series data for the years 1960, 1965, 1970 and annually from 1975 to 2014 for more than 180 telecommunication/ICT statistics (pdf format) covering fixed-telephone networks, mobile-cellular telephone subscriptions, quality of service, Internet (including fixed- and mobile-broadband subscription data), traffic, staff, prices, revenue, investment and statistics on ICT access and use by households and individuals. Selected demographic, macroeconomic and broadcasting statistics are also included. For the June release, data for 2014 are available for selected indicators such as fixed-telephone subscriptions, mobile-cellular telephone subscriptions, prices, international Internet bandwidth, fixed broadband subscriptions and percentage of individuals using the Internet. Data for over 200 economies are available.

Yearbook of Statistics - Telecommunication/ICT Indicators

This is the 40th edition of the Yearbook of Statistics. The data included in the Yearbook have been collected and processed by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) from replies received to ITU questionnaires sent to telecommunication ministries or regulators and national statistics offices. As such, the ITU Yearbook of Statistics provides the most authoritative source of data about the evolution of the telecommunication sector, the availability of ICTs in households and usage of ICTs by individuals.
