The confident chairmanship of this WTSA has ensured that we have made
significant strides towards the further development of the information society.
My thanks go to you all for your hard work in the various committees and ad
hoc groups.
Our Brazilian hosts did their utmost to help us all make the most of our time
in Florianopolis, I am extremely grateful to them for their help. My thanks,
too, goes to all of the ITU staff, who once again proved that they are our
greatest asset.
Thanks to your able guidance, Mr Chairman, and your confident leadership,
patience and humor we have been able to steer a clear course through some
turbulent waters.
For this I commend you, and would like to give you the ITU medal, a token of
esteem and our great appreciation of your work.
