Information about the project
Open Data Policy
Open Data is one of the five main enablers of the National Digital Strategy of Mexico. Its main objective is that of releasing Open Data to create an ecosystem of co-creation of public services; trigger innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth, drive transparency and reduce corruption in the country. To operate this enabler, the government of Mexico is implementing an Open Data Policy, which mandates all federal agencies to follow an ‘open by default’ standard for all their public data. Furthermore, the Coordination of National Digital Strategy is working on projects to drive the use of Open Data across all sectors of society, such as: ? Data for Development, to gather data from different sources to drive data based policy making and decision taking in government; and, ? OD100MX (opendata500.com/mx), which is the first study to map Mexican companies that use open government data to generate new business and develop new products and services and generate economic and social value.
National implementation: Mexico
