75% of Uganda's population survives on smallholder farming, yet many poor farmers have limited or no access to information and capital that will improve their livelihoods. Grameen Foundation works with government, the private sector and civil society to empower farmers with relevant, timely and actionable information and financial services. These resources are delivered through tailored mobile solutions and networks of trusted intermediaries. By combining mobile technology solutions with a methodology for leveraging local change agents, we are able to catalyse behaviour change that leads to sustainable improvements in the economic lives of the poor.
