eKrishok: Transforming Agriculture Through ICT
e-Krishok, an inclusive business initiative which is aimed at farmers with the desired goal of providing services from which farmers will benefit both in terms of their farming activities and opening up market linkage opportunities. Farmers can access to information in a timely and quick manner, so that they can get it easily. With such timely and appropriate information, farmers are able to maximize their economic gain; enabling them to achieve income growth. e-Krishok is now in a process of transforming into a transactional service. The service now also available through mobile phone (SMS/call)via Short Code 16250.

BIID developed partnership with Telecom Operators (Grameen Phone & Others), government (Department of Agriculture Extension), Development Agencies (Katalyst and VSO, UK), Academic institutes (Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University) and Private sector Partners (ACI Limited and Bangladesh Seed Association)
