Information about the project
Automatic Metering Infrastructure
This is a pilot project (phase one) the objective of which is to fully automate the process of managing the Electricity and Water Meters in the Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA). The goal is to define and link various processes within the business units by seamless integration of the metering system (AMI) with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions, CRM and GIS software. The implementation would also ensure full testing and compatibility of various components within the system to ensure interchangeability and open system solutions. It has been proposed to implement the project in an area where different consumers such as residential (apartment buildings & Villas), commercial (factories and offices) and bulk consumers can be remotely metered. After the Pilot Phase 1 implementation has been successfully completed, the overall deployment of AMI for all distribution system would be initiated.
