Information about the project
SIL Open Font License
SIL has developed and published the "SIL Open Font License" a validated licensing framework to enable open and collaborative development, sharing and wide distribution of fonts. In many parts of the world, complex writing system needs require specialized font knowledge and skills, but resources are limited. Such a collaborative approch involving many different partners based on a community-validated FLOSS (Free/Libre and Open Source Software) licensing and methodology allows unencumbered quality writing systems components to be available to many more language communities. More than 50 fonts released under OFL are now available.
